　　湖北省委十一届八次全会提出，加快建设农业产业强省，以农业产业化带动农业全面升级、农村全面进步、农民全面发展。

　　生猪产业是湖北传统优势产业，年均出栏量和万头以上规模化养猪场均居全国前列。然而，与发达省份相比，湖北省生猪产业链短、龙头企业不强等短板较为突出。当前，我国生猪产业正迎来转型升级的窗口期，湖北必须破解制约产业化发展的种种难题，做大做强生猪产业链，培育全国性龙头企业，在新一轮机遇期赶超先进省份。
